Step Denver
Step Denver is a recovery program that has helped men in the Denver Metro area since 1983.
Step Denver developed the Steps for Success program based on four pillars: Sobriety, Work, Accountability, and Community. They receive guidance from their Recovery Support Manager — a Step alumnus and Certified Peer Recovery Coach — recovery education groups, 12 Step fellowship meetings, career counseling, life skills classes, and most importantly, another chance. At Step, we can stay sober together better than any one of us can alone.
We are so happy to have helped out with a new parking lot for all!
The Gathering Place
The Gathering Place is Denver’s only daytime drop-in center for women and children who are experiencing homelessness or poverty.
The Gathering Place offers a safe daytime refuge to women and children living on the streets of Denver as well as providing emergency services and immediate relief. Once these individuals are able to meet their most pressing needs, they can then take the next steps towards rebuilding their lives.
On June 26th employees of Asphalt Specialties volunteered their time and efforts to provide and prepare lunch serving over 200 guests of The Gathering Place.
Cartridges for Kids
We are proud to participate in the Cartridges for Kids® program through our local community charter school system. Belle Creek Charter School has been the recipient of our recycling program since 2003. Cartridges for Kids is an environmentally friendly program that pays designated schools’ cash for recyclable items from both laser and inkjet printers. They will also take old DVD’s, laptops, cameras and cell phones. Participation in this program has helped Asphalt Specialties protect the environment by keeping these items out of our local landfills and in turn helping preserve our natural resources.
